Top Birmingham businessman made bankrupt with £4m debts - Sunday Mercury: "WEALTHY property investor faces having his two luxury Midland homes seized by the taxman after going bankrupt with debts of almost £4 million.
Businessman Inderjeet Saini, 50, used to own the swanky Indian restaurant and nightspot Prana in Birmingham city centre. But Mr Saini has now gone bankrupt after his mobile phone company, TDC Global, went bust and he racked up £3.95 million in debts, including £656,000 owed to the Inland Revenue.
His bankruptcy has been confirmed in court documents seen by the Sunday Mercury.
They show receivers are investigating the collapse and may seize a £2 million home Mr Saini and ex-wife Perm shared in the exclusive Farquhar Road in Edgbaston, as well as another luxury £1.8 million house in nearby Somerset Road.
Mr Saini and his former wife are high-profile members of the Birmingham business community, and are understood to have divorced recently.
He was a former director of a top lettings firm, while Ms Saini ran a separate property company which invested in the Rotunda redevelopment.
Mr Saini was a director of investment firm Claremont Residential Lettings & Property Management Ltd, until he stepped down in 2003."
