Former Scotland captain Hendry has struck a deal to avoid repaying more than 98 per cent of what he owes - including the vast majority of his unpaid bills with a spread betting firm.
Hendry was declared insolvent last June after turning to drink and gambling as he mourned wife Denise.
Now the accountant overseeing his bankruptcy has written to his creditors to tell them the star will only pay back £1000 per month for three years - a total of £36,000.
Former pal Hector McFarlane - who claims Hendry borrowed £95,000 from him despite knowing he was about to go bust - is horrified by the agreement.
'I am just flabbergasted,' he said last night.
'I stand to get back £1800 of the money I loaned him. It's an absolute disgrace.'"
